by I Can Teach my Child.. Paper Easter basket.
We built some extra trays, which might be pushing it a bit time-wise for the beginner DIYer, and I would suggest leaving the wood staining part for a separate weekend if it’s not something that you do often, because you want to do a really good job of finishing your work of art.Overall though, definitely a great project that makes a big impact visually and functionally, with a pretty simple process.. Here’s what we did!.
We started out by putting together a basic frame with four roof-support legs and some two-by-fours.We made the whole thing 36 inches tall (standard counter height), and about 5 feet wide. The counter top is about 22 inches deep, which is a bit less than a standard kitchen counter.
I really had no reason for that other than the fact that it felt right. When you design your own DIY project, you get to make calls like that.
Next, we had to create our counter top out of barn wood, as well as the lower shelf, which is made from new pine..
The top is actually made from three barn wood siding pieces held together with wood glue and dowels.I have to say that this little discovery was pretty thrilling for me.
I’m so happy I was able to get this bed and this skirt to play nicely together, when the new rug comes in, I just know that they’re all going to be the best of friends.I’ve been continuing to work, little by little, on the master bedroom and I think it’s about time for a little update, don’t you?To get caught up, you can see where we started.
, and then see more about what I did with the closet doors. There, you’re caught up!.
